Recently my grandfather passed away. He was a great and powerful influence in my life. He was an over the road trucker and always wished to see Alaska. I went with him as a kid in his Big Rig and saw a great portion of the Eastern United States. When I was with him I only would eat Chicken sandwiches with pickles. After his retirement his younger brother convinced him to go to Alaska with him after a lot of pushing to do so. After he passed we did as many people do, we began the arduous task of clearing out his belongings. My mother happened upon 3 hats from his trip to Alaska. One of them was from the Chicken Saloon, I quickly scooped up this hat, due to my fondness of chicken sandwiches and also the love for my grandfather. I can help but imagine that, he picked this hat up just for me...One day I plan on paying this fine establishment a visit. Just want you to know that his visit there to Alaska, was part of his bucket list, a part that he was able to cross off the list. Thank you for that. God Bless. Best saloon in town.
